This 3D-printed artifact was created by 3D-scanning a controlled, repetitive movement over various lengths of time (two minutes for this example), and then discovering a solid volume from the captured data that was a simulacrum of the captured movement. The movements selected are simple fluctuations that many experience – in this case it is the gentle movements of a flag in wind.
